The Free to Play documentary that the team at Valve has created about top level DOTA 2 gamers has been seen by fans of the Multiplayer Online Battle Arena title more than 5.5 million times since it was launched during the previous week.

VG247 quotes the company as saying that this makes it one of the most successful ever documentaries and is a testament to the interest that the gaming world has in DOTA 2 and the strategies of the most capable of its players.

Free to Play can be watched on Twitch, YouTube, iTunes, Steam and has a very high rating on IMDB.

Valve has created the documentary internally and it serves as a great way to advertise the coming edition of The International, the biggest DOTA 2 tournament in the world at the moment.

The competition will take place during the coming months and the company has announced that it will try to change the venue in order to accommodate more players.

DOTA 2 is currently competing with League of Legends from Riot Games and it will soon have to also deal with the Blizzard-made Heroes of the Storm and Turbine's Infinite Crisis, both of which will get full releases before the end of 2014.
