The development team at Valve announces that it is working on a documentary focused on the lives of professional DOTA 2 players, called Free to Play, which will be launched on March 19 via the Steam digital distribution service.

Gamers will be able to take part in a public screening and a Questions & Answers session on March 18 at the Castro Theater in San Francisco, California.

Valve states, “In recent years, E Sports has surged in popularity to become one of the most widely-practiced forms of competitive sport today.”

DOTA 2 fans will also be able to pick up the special Free to Play Competitor Pack for the Multiplayer Online Battle Arena title, which includes a new in-game courier, a special war and a custom Heads Up Display skin.

A portion of the revenue derived from its sale will be offered to the three professional gamers featured in the documentary.
