Fredrik Wester, the chief executive officer at Paradox Interactive, believes that the PC gaming space will continue to thrive because it has a number of champions, companies that do not launch their titles on other platforms.

The executive says that Mojang, the creator of Minecraft, and Valve, the company behind DOTA 2 and Half-Life, are two such champions.

He tells GamesIndustry.biz that, “That is such a stronghold for the PC market because the hardcore gamers are going to stay where the champions are in the market.”

Wester sees his own company as a smaller champion for PC gaming.

The publisher is best known for its grand strategy title.

Their biggest launch of the year is Europa Universalis IV, which will arrive in the fall and can be played exclusively on the PC.
