Valve, the studio behind big franchises like Half-Life and services like Steam, has confirmed that it won't put up an exhibit at E3 2013 this summer.

Valve is one of the most influential companies in the world, owning not just big franchises like Half-Life or Portal, but also running the massively popular Steam digital distribution service.

Sadly, while the studio is working on plenty of big things, like a SteamBox or a new Source engine that could power Half-Life 3, Valve has confirmed that it won't make an exhibit at E3 2013 this summer.

The confirmation comes from Valve's Doug Lombardi, via ValveTime, and looks to be official.

Plenty of other companies have announced that they're either skipping E3 2013 altogether, like 2K Games, or will just use the event to organize smaller gatherings, like Nintendo.

E3 2013 will be held between June 11 and 13 in Los Angeles.
