Unwritten: That Which Happened is an intriguing turn-based strategy title where the player has to guide a nomadic tribe across a hazardous tundra in an effort to meet their god.

The world aims to be an exotic melange, inspired by the international traditions of story-telling. Players are faced with meaningful decisions that will have a definitive impact on their story, affecting how they interact with other tribes.

Gamers will be in charge of successive generations of a nomadic clan that passes its stories and legends down through the ages, guiding them in a journey to meet their maker and receive the final judgment.

Everything will be randomly generated, from the maps to the units and abilities you'll employ and the enemies you'll encounter, to ensure a richer gameplay experience.

The team behind the project is a small 3-man one, made of a programmer, a visual artist and a composer. The leader is Joe Houston, a former member of the Dishonored team, and following the barely successful Kickstarter campaign the release date was set for August 2013.

The release date passed and there’s been no word from the devs until now, when an official Kickstarter update finally announced that the game would be delayed indefinitely.

A further post clarified that the game is not cancelled, and that work on Unwritten continues, but at a slower pace.
