Sony has revealed the first figures for its Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception title, confirming that on the first day of its availability, November 1, it has shipped 3.8 million units around the world.

Uncharted 3 is definitely one of the biggest console exclusives of the year, with Sony making sure that all PlayStation 3 owners were aware that the next set of adventures for protagonist Nathan Drake is out.

While everyone was pretty certain it would reach impressive sales, Sony has now posted its first data on the game, revealing that 3.8 million copies were shipped on day one.

While this number is just for copies that were sent to stores, it's safe to say that a couple of million were also sold, making the PS3 exclusive "one of the best-selling titles of 2011, putting the third installment on a clear course to be the biggest selling game in the trilogy", according to Sony.

Expect the first actual sales data to be released by the NPD group or by Sony itself in December.
