Paul Cross, a developer working on Rocksmith 2014, says that his team is using a lot of player statistics in order to make sure that the game is solidly balanced and to decide what kind of tracks might be part of future DLC.

He tells IGN that, “we can better understand where people are failing, which songs are their favourite, how far they’re getting with each song and so on. These core elements are going to help inform our DLC decisions, and any future patches that may be required for the game.”

Rocksmith 2014 is designed to give users a solid yet simple way of learning to play actual guitar via a series of lessons linked to popular tracks.

The game is set to arrive on October 22 on the Xbox 360, the PC and the PlayStation 3.

It includes tracks from bands like Aerosmith, Slayer, Radiohead, The Who and Muse.
