Yannis Mallat, the chief executive officer of the Ubisoft studio in Montreal, says that a lot of gamers are already prepared for a future where gaming consoles are always connected to the Internet.

Most of them already have other devices that are linked to the Internet at all times and they would understand why the feature is included in the coming PlayStation 4 and the Xbox 720 as long as there are clear benefits to its use.

NeoGAF cites the executive as saying, “It's important to be able to provide direct connections between us and our consumers, whether that's extra content or online services, a lot of successful games have that.”

More information on the rumored always-on connection to the Internet of the Xbox 720 is expected during the reveal event from Microsoft that will take place in late May.
