Lots of female characters are present in the game's story

Ubisoft has confirmed that there are plenty of female characters in Far Cry 4, with the game's Creative Director, Alex Hutchinson, even going so far as to say that the new title is "packed to the gills with women."

Last month there was a pretty big controversy over the fact that the cooperative mode in Assassin's Creed Unity doesn't include a female character, instead relying on just four men going on adventures in Paris during the French Revolution.

Ubisoft also came under fire from critics when it revealed that it had had plans for a female cooperative character in Far Cry 4 but axed the idea due to time constraints.

However, Far Cry 4's Alex Hutchinson has talked with OutsideXbox and revealed that his team still tried quite hard to add meaningful female characters in the game.

"We tried very hard to make sure of the four main antagonists, half of them are women, which is cool. On your side, one of the main leaders of the rebel faction is a woman, half the rebels that fight with you are women. It's packed to the gills with women. They're everywhere, just like life."

The new Far Cry 4 will go live this fall for the PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One platforms.
