Ubisoft has confirmed that, after hearing feedback from fans, it's now eliminated the requirement of a Uplay Passport for Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag and for all of its future titles.

Assassin's Creed 4 came out earlier this week and new copies were bundled with special uPlay Passports that granted fans access to the whole multiplayer experience and to special features in the single-player campaign, such as the fleet management or companion application.

After hearing complaints from fans, Ubisoft has confirmed on its blog that it's decided to eliminate the restriction and that owners of used versions of Black Flag will be able to get a Uplay Passport code for free via the PlayStation Store or Xbox Games Marketplace.

Those who have already bought one will have to ask for a refund from the local Ubisoft office.

Besides eliminating the requirement for Black Flag, Ubisoft also confirmed that it future games will no longer require Uplay Passports.
