Patrick Plourde, the creative director working on the newly announced Child of Light, says that his game will have plenty of choices and each of them will lead to a new and interesting ending.

He tells The Official Xbox Magazine that, “Not to say that the game is completely open ended – it is still a fairly linear storyline – but by giving the player the choice to help somebody or not, or by being able to take the villain’s offer or refusing it and have a different outcome, the experience becomes better.”

The developer believes that the use of a female protagonist means that the game has more ways to emotionally connect to players.

Plourde also wants gamers to try out Child of Light despite the fact that they might be fans of other genres, like shooters.

The game is expected to arrive on a variety of platforms, including next-gen consoles, in 2014.
