Twitch is big in the virtual space and it seems that the company wants to now also make a splash in the real world, with the first edition of a convention called TwitchCon announced as taking place on September 25 and 26 of this year at the Moscone West Convention Center in San Francisco, California.

So far, the event has an official Twitter account of its own and the organizers are saying that the concept will allow broadcasters, presumably the most popular of them, and players to meet, interact and game together.

No information on how regular gamers will be able to access TwitchCon or how many tickets will be sold, but presumably all the cool events will be shown via Twitch.

An official Frequently Asked Questions document should arrive soon with more details, along with a list of the personalities that will be involved.

Twitch has evolved very fast to become the most popular streaming service for video games and it is currently used by both companies and regular gamers to show off the best moments from their sessions.

The TwitchCon will be a chance for the company to lay out plans for the future and get some direct feedback from its many fans.
