Kalypso Media has just revealed the first gameplay trailer for the upcoming and highly anticipated city builder Tropico 5.

After revealing the Tropico 5 Xbox 360 and PC box art along with a slew of in-game screenshots, publisher Kalypso has decided to offer fans a live sneak peek into the world of Haemimont Games' creation.

The trailer shows the painstakingly detailed environments and various buildings that players will be able to construct through the ages, transforming the lush and untamed land in the Carribean into anything they want while finding their way to glory with the newly introduced dynasty feature.

Players will begin their journey in the early 19th century during the colonial era, and will slowly progress through the years, adapting to an ever-changing political climate and appointing more and more members of their extended family in key position in the country's government.

Over the course of more than 200 years, players will have the opportunity to lead the small tropical island into a glorious age of prosperity, in the most expansive game in the series so far.

Tropico 5 will come out this year in early summer, for the Xbox 360 home entertainment console from Microsoft, the Playstation 4 next-gen computer system from Sony, and the PC, Mac and Linux platforms.
