Frozenbyte Games has finally revealed the long-awaited expansion for last year’s Trine 2, in the form of the Goblin Menace DLC.

Trine 2 was released last December and impressed quite a lot of gamers with its sharp puzzle platformer gameplay, not to mention its stunning graphics and visual style.

Now, after a pretty lengthy wait and a bit of teasing, developer Frozenbyte has revealed the first major expansion for the game, in the form of Trine 2: Goblin Menace.

According to the Finnish studio, “Trine 2: Goblin Menace is an all new campaign spanning six unique levels, further improving the award-winning visuals of the original Trine 2. In addition, Goblin Menace features new revolutionary skills that are also playable in the original game.”

Not much else is known, but the studio did present a special video, which you can admire above, that shows off lots of gameplay and some of the new skills wielded by the three main characters.

Trine 2: Goblin Menace doesn’t have a release date just yet, although it will be included in the special Trine 2: Director’s Cut that’s going to be released for the Nintendo Wii U at the end of the year.
