Developer Edge of Reality has released a new trailer for the upcoming action video game Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark, due out next month.

Publisher Activision announced the game in February, stating that it would "go beyond the movie by uniting the universe of director Michael Bay's Transformers movies with the ever-popular Cybertron universe."

The video game is a direct sequel to Fall of Cybertron, released in 2012, and its release will take place at the same time with the upcoming Michael Bay movie's release in June. "Transformers: Age of Extinction" will be the fourth installment in the live action film series, and this time around the franchise will star Mark Wahlberg in the lead role.

Rise of the Dark Spark is the third iteration of the War for Cybertron series and will allow players to choose from over 40 characters from the two different universes, joining their battle to secure the Dark Spark.

The gameplay will revolve mostly around fast-paced gunning action, paired with various vehicle action across large-scale open battlefields. The game will also feature a new leveling system, that is shared across both single and multiplayer game modes, in order to provide a more streamlined progression experience.

Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark will be launched on June 24 for PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Wii U, Xbox 360, and Xbox One, as well as for the Nintendo 3DS handheld gaming console.
