The development team at Cyanide working on Tour de France 2013 says that the new version of its cycling simulator will allow gamers to switch between riders at any point during a stage.

Developers say in an official blog, “Giving this opportunity allows to be always at the heart of the action and to control all the moments of the race.”

This means that players can use the new fast-forward feature to get through the tedious sections of a flat stage in order to get to the last kilometer, switching between a rider in a breakaway and a sprinter inside the pack to create a winning strategy.

A new team control screen has been created to handle the new feature of Tour de France 2013.

The game will be launched on Xbox Live Arcade and the PlayStation Network.

Cyanide is also working on the more management-minded Pro Cycling Manager 2013.
