The development team at The Creative Assembly is delivering the Baktrian faction for Total War: Rome II for free, allowing players to experience war in the Ancient world from the perspective of another state that claims the legacy of Alexander the Great.

The new faction sits in the east of the game’s sprawling map and will quickly be faced with the might of the Seleucids, the biggest but also most fragile of the successors, and with the quick raids of the various steppe-based factions.

The Baktrian roster includes both the phalanxes and the hoplites of the Greeks, which still live in the area, and more Eastern units, including capable archers and a lot of light cavalry.

The new faction will be automatically downloaded to the game via Steam.

Total War: Rome II will also soon get access to the Caesar in Gaul campaign expansion, which will include many changes and which is set to arrive on December 12.
