The team at The Creative Assembly that has created Total War: Rome II says that the core gamer has no problems linked to its gameplay mechanics and that all the issues some players are experimenting will be solved in the coming weeks.

Mike Simpson, the creative director at The Creative Assembly, explains on the official forums that, “Fortunately, the same tech that gave us the rope to work on the game right up to release lets us keep working on it after it’s out, and the flaws in the game are mostly just bugs, not structural defects.”

Total War: Rome II has just received a patch that fixes some of the problems with specific hardware builds and another update is expected before the end of the week.

Simpson says that stability and performance are the core priorities for The Creative Assembly followed by gameplay problems and then minor bugs.

He also suggests that future Total War games might use long open betas to make sure that launch issues are avoided.
