The development team at The Creative Assembly announces that it will deliver new content for Total War: Rome II on November 20 via the Steam digital distribution platform, allowing gamers to take control of four new factions in the grand campaign of the strategy title.

The free part of the update is linked to Massilia, a wealthy Greek colony in southern France which has not forgotten its origins and also has some Gaul elements to its culture, which makes it interesting to play as it tries to find a way to survive between the Celtic tribes and the rising power of Rome.

Gamers who are willing to pay for new factions can also get the Black Sea Colonies pack, which opens up playable Cimmeria, Colchis and Pergamom.

The team explains that “All claim Greek heritage, but their settlement away from their homelands has wrought subtle changes to their cultures. Each faction enjoys unique traits, strengths and hybrid unit Rosters that reflect their culturally diverse civic and military aspects.”

It’s unclear whether The Creative Assembly also plans to deliver an accompanying patch for Total War: Rome II in order to deal with the issues that the community is still reporting with the game, especially those linked to the Artificial Intelligence.
