The development team at The Creative Assembly and publisher SEGA are launching a new piece of downloadable content for Total War: Rome II, called Blood & Gore, designed to increase the overall violence level of the title.

The team states, “Blood & Gore for ROME II looks and feels grittier and more brutal. Gore coats combatants, the ground will become soaked with blood, and you’ll hear every stab, slash and impact with bespoke new sound effects.”

The game gets a new set of graphics options to turn off or on the new effects, which include increase gore for javelin impacts, stone throws, arrows, more death animations and decapitations.

Total War: Rome II is set to get long-term support from The Creative Assembly and the team has promised that it will add both more game mechanics and new factions to play as.
