Developer The Creative Assembly and publisher SEGA have announced that their next joint project is indeed the rumored Total War: Rome 2, which will be launched on the PC during the second half of 2013.

Rumors about the game began appearing in late June when an image from the first game with the “II” added appeared in gaming magazines.

The Creative Assembly has said that it will be offering a game map similar to that of the first Rome, but that it will be shifting the focus of the game somewhat, allowing players to deal with more personal decisions for the characters, some of them with a big impact over the way the game world evolves.

The battles are described as being both bigger and more cinematic than ever and it seems that the developers have something big planned for the multiplayer mode of Total War: Rome 2, after the character system that was introduced in Shogun.
