Social publisher 6waves and the Worldwide service from the BBC have announced that they have entered into a partnership which aims to create a series of titles based on the best-known franchises of the radio communications network.

In May, players will get access to Top Gear: Speed World, a Facebook-based video game that was developed by Eyes Wide Games and will be inspired by the various tests and adventures seen on the popular television program.

Jane Austen’s Rogues & Romance will be launched later during 2012 and will offer a hidden object experience that is based on the classic novel Pride and Prejudice.

The BBC has become more and more interested in video games in the last few years and sees them as a way of reaching new audiences that are no longer interested in linear television and radio programs.

The company has also recently announced that a new Doctor Who-powered video games will soon be launched using the stories of the most recent series of the show.
