Square Enix has posted an official statement about the recent rumor that a Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition would appear for the PS4 and Xbox One next year, confirming that fans should look forward to an actual announcement at a large gaming event in early December, possibly VGX 2013.

The new Tomb Raider title that appeared back in March for PC, PS3, and Xbox 360 delivered a great experience and successfully rebooted the series with a new version of protagonist Lara Croft.

Square Enix is apparently getting ready to debut a special Definitive Edition of the game for the PS4 and Xbox one next-gen console, at least according to a retailer and the Brazilian game rating agency.

Now, Square Enix has confirmed that fans of the series should look forward to a large gaming event in early December for an official reveal.

"It’s so hard to keep a secret these days! We appreciate all of the enthusiasm, however we don’t have any details to share just yet. That said, we highly recommend you keep an eye on any major gaming events happening in early December," a representative told IGN.

The only gaming event in December is the VGX 2013 awards on December 7, so expect a reveal then.
