A brand new email scam has appeared online, inviting gamers into an "exclusive Xbox One alpha trial" for Titanfall, the upcoming online first-person shooter.

Update: Despite the fact that Respawn isn't confirming anything, EA customer representatives say that the alpha trial is, in fact, legitimate and that Xbox One owners will receive download codes soon.

Update #2: Respawn has finally confirmed that the Titanfall alpha stage is real but that it's just a test phase limited to Xbox One in North America and users can't talk about it.

As with many big games, nefarious individuals want to prey on those who are interested in getting a sneak peek at them, and Titanfall is apparently no exception.

A new scam email has been going around, via NeoGAF, seemingly sent by Titanfall publisher Electronic Arts, inviting players to register for an alpha trial of an Xbox One game, namely Titanfall.

Needless to say, the email is a scam and developer Respawn has even confirmed on Twitter that it hasn't revealed any plans about an alpha or beta stage for Titanfall, so players shouldn't believe any emails saying otherwise.

Titanfall launches for PC, Xbox One, and Xbox 360 on March 11, in North America, and March 13, in Europe.
