Titanfall is one of the most anticipated first-person shooters of 2014, featuring both the usual infantry action and seeing the addition of huge hulking mechs that players can pilot, called Titans.

Aside from the innovative aspects such as maneuvering your Titans and taking down opposing ones, the game also features the standard first-person shooter mechanics all the games in this genre share, such as sniping.

Respawn Entertainment's forums are filled with discussions about the upcoming game, and in one such instance a Titanfall developer sought to clarify some issues regarding the gameplay decisions surrounding long-distance rifles.

“Sniping is in the game, but due to how the game plays it's a pretty different animal than you'll find in your run of the mill modern military shooter. Quick scoping and no scoping are ineffective,” the dev stated, making it clear that Titanfall snipers will not be able to run & gun like in most titles.

Precisely how snipers will work is yet unknown, but we'll probably find out more about it as we close in on Titanfall's scheduled release date of March 2014.
