Vince Zampella, one of the leaders of Respawn Entertainment, suggests that the big cloud support that Microsoft is planning for the upcoming Xbox One is one of the reasons why Titanfall is exclusive to devices from the company.

When the new studio, made up of Infinity Ward veterans, initially signed up with Electronic Arts and presented the idea for their new title, they had no ideas about launch platforms.

Since then, the team talked to Microsoft about Xbox One and Windows 8 cloud-based services.

Zampella tells IGN that, “It allowed us to think of the game a little differently.”

Both friendly and enemy AI for Titanfall will be linked to the cloud, which will increase the general challenge level in the game.

Currently, Respawn does not have plans for cross-play between Xbox One, 360 and the PC.
