A 1080p resolution increase might not appear in the future

Titanfall developer Respawn Entertainment has confirmed that right now it has two priorities when it comes to the Xbox One edition of the multiplayer shooter: improving performance (aka framerate) and stability, not the resolution.

Titanfall caused a heated debate when Respawn confirmed that the new first-person shooter runs at a pretty low 792p resolution on the Xbox One platform.

This sub-HD resolution is due to the studio's emphasis on the 60fps framerate, but previous statements did leave the door open for a potential improvement to 1080p in the future.

Respawn producer Drew McCoy has now revealed on Twitter that the resolution increase might not even appear, as the team is working on improving other things.

As of right now, Respawn wants to improve the performance of the game, as the 60fps framerate does suffer quite a few drops in certain heated moments, and the stability, so that the game doesn't suffer from crashes, freezes, or other such things.

McCoy does leave the door open for a resolution increase, saying that a focus on performance doesn’t necessarily exclude a bigger resolution like 900p or 1080p.

As of right now, however, it's unclear what exact improvements are coming to Titanfall on the Xbox One or PC.
