Players won't be able to buy Burn Cards, they must earn them in the game

Respawn Entertainment has confirmed that Titanfall's Burn Cards, special one-time-use bonuses that are earned by players in the game, won't be available via microtransactions.

Online first-person shooters have grown accustomed to selling various bonuses and gear for real-life money, not just for in-game credits or achievements.

Titanfall, however, won't do such a thing, as Respawn co-founder Vince Zampella revealed that the game's special bonuses, the Burn Cards, will need to be earned in the game by completing achievements or challenges.

Players will not be able to buy burn cards through microtransactions, so they shouldn't worry about other people coming into their games and using multiple cards to gain an immediate advantage.

"You won't be able to buy burn cards, got to earn them in game. Not just from challenges," Zampella told fans on Twitter.

Titanfall drops next month on PC, Xbox One, and Xbox 360.
