A Titanfall sequel is currently in the planning stages at Respawn Entertainment and one thing is already certain: a PS4 edition will be made in addition to PC and Xbox One, at least according to the WSJ.

Titanfall appeared earlier this year across the PC and Xbox One platforms and also reached the old Xbox 360 in April, delivering a top-notch multiplayer-only first-person shooter that delighted fans from all over the world, provided they had the actual platforms.

EA mentioned before its release that Titanfall would not appear on PS4 or PS3 during its lifetime, effectively confirming that it had an iron-clad exclusivity deal with Microsoft for the first game.

However, it seems that the sequel is another beast altogether, at least according to a report from the WSJ.

The newspaper claims that Titanfall 2 is already in the planning stages at Respawn Entertainment and that a PS4 edition is going to be made this time around, as it seems that EA doesn't want to exclude the current console sales leader from the next shooter.

No other details were given and, considering that Respawn's small staff is still busy developing add-ons for the current Titanfall, it's going to be a while before any news of its sequel is revealed to the public.
