The development team working on This War of Mine is delivering a new video for their game, one of the most emotionally charged set to launch this year, which is designed to show how the characters that will be included in the game were created.

The studio explains that “Civilians during war hardly look like those shown in Hollywood movies, with shiny teeth and combed hair, no matter the circumstances. That’s why we decided we weren't using professional actors or anonymous 3D models as characters in the game. You will meet real people instead – us, our relatives, our friends. Regular folks, like you and us.”

The footage shows Olek, one of the programmers working on the title, becoming a priest that gamers can control in This War of Mine.

The game introduces three civilians trapped in a city that’s under siege when a new campaign is started, and more can be met as the story progresses.

The development team aims to simulate the hardship and the tough choices that need to be made in order to survive and try to keep loved ones safe while dealing with other survivors that are facing the same problems.

This War of Mine is set to be launched on the PC before the end of this year.
