The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim was considered a transformative experience by many gamers, able to bring the role-playing game back into the spotlight in a modern incarnation that managed to achieve financial success.

The only bad thing about it is that it's a pretty old game, and it's starting to show its 2011 roots nowadays, as it can't really keep up with the graphical advancements the industry has made since.

However, the gaming community has been pretty busy creating various mods for Skyrim on PC, bringing its visuals to the level one would expect from more recent titles.

One such alteration even goes as far as reworking the way the game renders assets, applying additional effects and greatly improving lighting and the overall visual fidelity of the video game.

The video below shows what an Xbox One or PlayStation 4 version of Skyrim might have looked like, or what it can look like right now if you have a beefy enough PC to run it.

Bethesda made it pretty clear that we shouldn't expect them to remaster or re-release The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim on new-gen consoles, and that they only plan on working on new games, which is probably for the best, since we really need them to announce Fallout 4 already.
