The development team working on the new Thief video game is delivering a new trailer in time for the Gamescom event in Cologne, Germany, designed to show off the new look of the city and the core conflict at the heart of the game’s story.

The team says, “Garrett the Master Thief is entangled in the growing layers of conflict between Baron Northcrest and the oppressed masses led by Orion, the voice of the people.”

It seems that the entire city of the game is on the brink of a revolt and the player will have to evaluate how to react to the situation and decide how Garrett can help one of the sides.

The new title is designed to reboot the entire series, keeping the focus on the stealth mechanics while making the experience more accessible.

Thief is at the moment set to launch for the PC, current-gen consoles, the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One next year.
