Valerie Bourdeau, a community manager working at Eidos Montreal, says that the Hardcore game mode for the rebooted Thief title will include an Ironman option, which means that gamers will need to restart as soon as their character dies.

Another option allows gamers to introduce a mechanic that makes main character Garrett die as soon as he is spotted.

The developer adds in a Q&A session on the official site that, “There is also the possibility to disable Focus and related abilities, as promised. This is in addition to the option to disable specific elements of the UI, like the reaction icons for NPCs.”

Recently Eidos Montreal also announced that it was eliminating all QTEs from Thief after the fan base protested that they made gameplay too simple.

The game will be launched on the PlayStation 4, the Xbox One, current gen consoles and the PC in February of next year.
