Iridium Studios released a new gameplay video from its upcoming voice-controlled real time tactics game There Came an Echo, showcasing how you can strategically bark commands at your computer.

There Came an Echo places you in command of a squad of soldiers, free to navigate its campaign missions by using only your voice as the main medium of interaction with the team, and the new video showcases how you can use the game's War Room feature as a training ground.

The War Room will enable field commanders to get right into the fray and experiment with weapon combinations, voice commands, and the best strategy to defeat wave upon wave of enemies.

Iridium Studios' Jason Wishnov assured everyone that the voice commands shown in the trailers are "captured live and unedited," which is quite impressive, considering that the footage of the War Room was captured in a pre-alpha build of the upcoming game.

The War Room demonstration video also offers the first extended look at the actual gameplay of the strategy title. The game concluded its successful Kickstarter campaign in March of 2013, and since then the devs have been busily hammering away at it, polishing the unique control scheme.

There Came an Echo is currently scheduled for launch on PC later this year, with Mac, Linux, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions also planned for the future.
