Marcin Iwinski, the co-founder of CD Projekt RED, developer of The Witcher series, has revealed that The Witcher 3 would be impossible to run on either the PlayStation 3 or the Xbox 360.

The Polish studio plans to release their highly anticipated role-playing game The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt this year, the reveal of which was very positively received during last year's E3 conference.

During an interview with MCV India, Iwinski reveals that there are no plans to release The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt for the PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360, because the difference in specs between the last-gen consoles and the game's target platforms is simply too big.

“It's impossible. It would have to be a different game – a smaller game, not an open-world game, or with terrible loading times, with sacrifices in graphics,” he comments, while also noting that The Witcher 2 Xbox 360 port also made significant sacrifices in the visual quality department.
