The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt fans can now start preloading the necessary files for the upcoming role-playing experience on PC using the Steam or GOG Galaxy clients, ahead of the actual release next week, on May 19.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is finally going to arrive next week, after multiple delays due to the emphasis on quality from developer CD Projekt Red.

As any major game nowadays, the new RPG needs quite a lot of hard drive space, as its textures, its huge open world, and its detailed items occupy plenty of gigabytes.

In order to help players with low download speeds who pre-purchased the digital version, CD Projekt Red has just opened the preload period for The Witcher 3 on the Steam service from Valve and from its own GOG Galaxy client.

The preload requires around 22GB of free space, according to users on Reddit, whereas the final installed titled should clock in at around 35GB.

The actual release date is May 19, worldwide, but the title's digital versions will unlock a few hours early, according to CD Projekt Red. More specifically, fans can start playing it at 4pm PDT / 7pm EDT, May 18, in North America, or 12am BST / 1am CET, May 19, in Europe.
