Japanese publisher Cyber Front announced its dissolution earlier today, in a simple statement published on its Japanese website.

Cyber Front handled the Japanese releases of many western games, and although unknown outside Japan, the publisher is known in Japan for prominent titles such as Telltale's Walking Dead series and Valve's Portal franchise, as GamaSutra informs.

The 1998-founded publisher's most recent success was with Lab Zero Games' Skullgirls, brought to the PlayStation Network.

According to the official Japanese statement, Cyber Front went through management changes and a buyout earlier this year, and struggled from then on to rebuild its business, which included development, localization, production, publishing and distribution efforts, to no avail.

Consequently, the decision to dissolve the company was made, right after releasing The Walking Dead for PlayStation 3 and PC on December 5, with still one upcoming game scheduled, Operation Abyss, a PlayStation Vita Japanese role-playing game.

No information is currently available surrounding who will take over Cyber Front's back and upcoming game catalog.
