The Taekwondo Game – Global Tournament is the first such title to hit the mobile market, and the fact that it also supports multiplayer makes it much more appealing.

Granted, pushing the limits of the artificial intelligence can be empowering, but there's nothing like genuine human suffering to go along with your morning coffee toward ensuring a productive day.

The game is free to play, supported by in-app purchases, as expected from mobile titles, and it's pretty fun. Don't expect it to have the complexity of Mortal Kombat though, as it's nowhere near that complex.

Also, don't expect it to be truly free, either. In any case, there is an ongoing 50 percent-off promotion during the Christmas Holidays, so if you find the game to your liking, you can take advantage of the offer and get the full experience for $1 / €1.

Developer Hello There boasts movements based on motion-captured professional taekwondo athletes and an experience that aims to emulate the martial art's tournaments.

Trying to stay true to the spirit of taekwondo, the game places an emphasis on positioning and timing. Reading your opponent and figuring out the best move to deploy, while taking care not to deplete your stamina bar, are the keys to mastering its challenges.

The Taekwondo Game only supports local multiplayer via a wireless connection, which is a bummer, as kicking in the faces of unknown people all around the world is what would have made it truly shine.

You can get the game for either iOS or Android.
