The Sun, one of the leading newspapers in the United Kingdom in terms of circulation, has announced that it is launching a video game, called Sun Football Legends, exclusively on the social network Facebook.

The game aims to be a role playing game which allows the player to create a player based on his own personality and then make the right choices to go on and have a career in the top division of English football.

Sun Football Legends offers tests and challenges both on and off the pitch and is loaded with a serious dose of humor.

Rob Painter, who is the marketing director at the The Sun, stated, “Social gaming on Facebook represents a fantastic opportunity for The Sun to further engage a large community built around our key editorial pillar of football.”

He added, “We are also seeing strong interest from commercial clients wanting to exploit the benefits of in-game advertising and branded virtual goods, so we are very excited to be making this first step into social gaming.”
