Another kind of survival game has just popped up on Steam Early Access, this time around exploring the theme of prehistoric life instead of the played-out zombie apocalypse scenario that everyone went crazy about.

The Stomping Land is an upcoming game that focuses on multiplayer action and survival mechanics, set in an alternate history were humans and dinosaurs coexisted, a theme that was previously unexplored, save for the Creation Museum and The Flintstones.

Players are challenged to form tribes, set up a camp and then proceed to hunting down the cast of Jurassic Park, in their quest of becoming the dominant species on the island.

As we all learned from the movies, dinosaurs are very hard to kill, and not even door handles can stop them, and as such players will have to become adept at hunting in groups in order to secure the food supply they need for survival.

The larger, more dangerous dinosaurs, roam the island freely and even fight each other when their paths cross, and it’s up to you to learn the way of the ancient world and eventually tame your own prehistoric beast to use as faithful mount.

In addition to all the wild beasts trying to gut you, there is of course a variety of civilized beasts who are trying to do the same thing. Only The Stomping Land takes the fabled cruelty of online survival game players to an entirely new level, by allowing them to immobilize and imprison others in cages where they can be kept for no other purpose than entertainment.
