The Sims 4 developer Maxis is currently focusing completely on the recently released game, as it has no plans for The Sims 5 as of yet, and it might not even release such a thing if the current title isn't successful.

The Sims franchise has been around for quite some time and has garnered a cult-like following, with many fans around the world. However, the latest entry, The Sims 4, has gotten a mixed reception with fans, largely due to missing features or obvious things that were left outside of the game for future expansions.

In order to ease the worries of fans, Maxis' Grant Rodiek has posted a message on the official forums, confirming that, as of yet, the focus is on The Sims 4, not on its expansions or on The Sims 5.

"We're not working on Sims 5. We're not thinking about Sims 5. If Sims 4 isn't successful, there won't be a Sims 5," he says, in reply to a list of features that a user posted for consideration when Maxis makes the next iteration in the series.

So far, Maxis has already rolled out a few updates for the game designed to solve bugs and unforeseen glitches, and you can bet that more are on the way.
