Video game developer Maxis and publisher Electronic Arts are announcing that they are set to add an entirely new free world to The Sims 4 on Thursday, June 11, giving fans of the title more space to create their dream neighborhoods.

The new area is entirely empty and filled with plots that gamers can fill however they see fit, testing out their skills for both character creation and building development.

The official announcement states, "We know that many of you wanted more room to expand but didn’t have the heart to evict the likes of Bella Goth, Malcolm Landgraab, and Bob Pancakes. We can’t blame you - who would want to live in a world without the Goths?"

In Newcrest, gamers will get three separate neighborhoods, each of them with five open plots that can be developed in various ways.

The lot sizes are: Neighborhood #1 - 50x40, 40x30, 40x30, 30x30, 30x20; Neighborhood #2- 30x20, 30x20, 40x30, 20x15, 20x15; and Neighborhood #3 - 30x20, 30x20, 30x20, 40x30, 40x20.

Since The Sims 4 was launched, the community has uploaded a wide variety of new buildings and items in the shared database and gamers can use any content they like in the new Newcrest world.

Maxis has not yet said when it will deploy an entirely new expansion for the life sim.
