Ru Weerasuriya, the creative director working on The Order: 1886, says that he is interested in allowing players to explore areas of London in the upcoming game, but he is more concerned with making sure that players enjoy the core single-player content.

He tells Edge that, “the reality is that it’s a single-player game that takes you on a ride, and we don’t want to compromise that ride.”

The fact that The Order: 1886 will seamlessly blend cinematics and in-game action means that gamers will always have something new to experience and there will be limited possibilities to wonder off the main narrative path.

The game is set to launch on the PlayStation 4 at some point in 2014 and will take players to London in the XIX century.

The core gameplay will mix melee combat with third-person shooting and the world will be a combination of real and fantasy elements.
