Ru Weerasuriya, the leader of the development team at Ready at Dawn, says that The Order: 1886 aims to make full use of the London Victorian setting that was shown in the most recent trailer, but does not aim to remain historically accurate.

He tells CVG that, “As a writer you always have to adhere to some sense of truth, but the reality of it is we rewrite history all the time. History is written from one point of view, and so it can be rewritten from another.”

In The Order, gamers can choose to become one of the Knights of the Round Table in order to battle creatures that mix human and monster ancestry.

The game uses classic cover shooter mechanics and some innovative ideas, including QTEs to move from gameplay to cutscenes.

It will be launched this year exclusively on the PlayStation 4 from Sony.
