Nintendo has announced that The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past is now available on the Wii U Virtual Console, available for $8 / €6.

Nintendo has also released The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Anniversary Edition on the Nintendo eShop for the 3DS, for a limited time only, available for free.

Players are now given the opportunity to play the game that inspired one of the best 3DS titles of 2013. The game will be available until February 2, at which point it will be taken down.

The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Anniversary Edition incorporates a new single-player mode as well as new unlockable stages and abilities, once the game is completed.

The new releases come as a celebration of the launch of The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds for the 3DS, an event that took place at the end of last year and was met with much excitement by the series' fans.
