A set of leaked screenshots from the upcoming The Last of Us Remastered for PlayStation4 has appeared online, showing off the stunning high-quality character models from the upcoming game.

The Last of Us appeared on the PS3 last year and delivered a pretty great-looking experience that focused on survival as well as on a top-notch story with believable characters.

Currently, developer Naughty Dog is working hard on remastering the experience for the PS4 console, bringing a new native resolution of 1080p, a 60fps framerate, and incorporating all of the previously released DLC into a single package.

After a lengthy wait, the first screenshots from the new game have appeared online, courtesy of a Korean website.

As you can see above, the game is looking phenomenally well, at least in the cut scenes depicted above and in the gallery below.

There are quite a few improvements to the character models of main protagonists Joel and Ellie, as well as some more detailed environments in terms of textures and lighting.

No word yet on when more images might appear, but you can expect Naughty Dog and Sony to share some more details soon enough, ahead of the release of The Last of Us Remastered later this summer.
