Sony doesn't plan to offer a discount or upgrade option to those looking to purchase The Last of Us Remastered on the PlayStation 4, and who already own the PlayStation 3 version of the action adventure title.

A bit earlier, in April, Naughty Dog Community Strategist Eric Monacelli said that the developer was still "looking into the business model for all this," when asked about the possibility of a discount being made available for those who have already purchased the game on the PlayStation 3 platform, perhaps in the form of a season pass.

Since then, the developer and publisher Sony seem to have made up their minds about the matter, and the platform holder has confirmed that there won't be an upgrade available.

"Alas, there is no upgrade discount," Sony Computer Entertainment's Fred Dutton delivered the news, in response to a user question on the PlayStation Blog.

The PlayStation 4 edition of the game includes all the previously released add-ons, like the Left Behind DLC pack, as well as some videos with commentary from the game's creative director, Neil Druckmann, as well as from actors Troy Baker and Ashley Johnson.

The Last of Us Remastered is coming out on July 29, exclusively for the PlayStation 4 computer entertainment system.
