Sony announced that developer Naughty Dog's revamped PlayStation 3 action-adventure game The Last of Us Remastered sold over one million copies on the PlayStation 4.

The news comes from the press conference event held by Sony Computer Entertainment Worldwide Studios President Shuhei Yoshida, in Tokyo, where he revealed that The Last of Us Remastered was officially over the million copies sold mark, just one month after its release.

The Last of Us follows the story of the survivors of a deadly fungal infection outbreak, usually known as zombies in similarly themed titles.

The game was launched for the PlayStation 4 computer entertainment system on July 29, and it joins Infamous: Second Son, Knack and Killzone: Shadow Fall in Sony's hall of fame.

Taking into account that The Last of Us won a ton of awards for its emotional story, mood and overall presentation, and that Sony estimates that a lot of PlayStation 4 owners are coming from competing platforms or from a generation jump, having never owned either a PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360, the game will surely sell a lot more copies.

As a matter of fact, Yoshida also informed the public that the action adventure video game's sales were going strong, and that the digital downloads were also increasing, which means that Naughty Dog's remastered creation is bound to become one of the platform's best sellers.
