The video only includes the game's trailer, reconstructed with gameplay footage on the PS3

The Last of Us: Remastered is coming to the PlayStation 4 on July 29, in all-new enhanced visuals that are said to be way beyond what the PlayStation 3 had to offer.

Developer Naughty Dog's Neil Druckmann complained that the spruced-up visuals of The Last of Us: Remastered almost didn't fit on its PlayStation 4 Blu-Ray disc. How's that for bragging?

Fortunately, the guys at Digital Foundry have put together a video comparing the overhauled PlayStation 4 visuals to the PlayStation 3 original footage, packed together nicely in a side-by-side video, allowing the world to see whether Druckmann's claim was merely a PR stunt or whether the difference is as striking as the developer claims.

They reconstructed the PlayStation 4 edition of the game's trailer using PlayStation 3 gameplay footage in a feat worthy of Doctor Frankenstein, and even delivered the video at half speed in order to offer a closer look at the improvements.

The big thing to take into account here is that the most important difference between the two versions of the game will be apparent in the actual gameplay, although considering that The Last of Us looked very good on the PlayStation 3 anyway, the change isn't going to be very noticeable.

The Last of Us: Remastered will become available on July 29, exclusively for Sony's next-gen console, the PlayStation 4.
