The development team at Tango Gameworks and publisher Bethesda are announcing that they have decided to launch the first downloadable content pack for The Evil Within, called The Assignment, at some point during March on all platforms on which the survival horror title is currently offered.

The reveal comes just one day after the two companies have said that they were getting ready to talk about the future of the experience.

There are at the moment no details offered on the content of the DLC or on how it will be connected to the main story.

When The Evil Within was launched, the developers explained that they were interested in exploring stories associated with characters other than the main protagonist.

Juli Kidman, another cop that will probably have different abilities and weapons, is supposed to be the star of the first two DLC packs, and gamers will then also have a chance to play as The Keeper, one of the main evil presences in the game.

The Evil Within sold well when it launched, but Bethesda has not yet said whether it wants to turn the game into a franchise or if this is just a standalone project that will be slightly expanded via content packs.
